GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR FICTION, NONFICTION, AND POETRY

We are looking for powerful and poignant works of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. We accept works on any topic and subject.

After your piece is accepted, the tiny journal receives first North American Publishing Rights and Archival Rights. Following publication, all rights revert back to you, the author.

All accepted work may be subject to small grammar and formatting edits. We will not make any major changes to ideas or concepts. We will send you the corrected piece and proceed forward to final publication only after you have approved the corrected version.

At the tiny journal, we highly encourage you to take our feedback into consideration, especially if your work has not been accepted. As writers ourselves, we understand how disheartening a rejection can feel, but we hope our comments will act as a guideline in the revision process. In the words of Ray Bradbury, “you fail only when you stop writing."

Please note we are currently on a submission hiatus.

RESUBMISSIONS

  • a note on resubmissions:

    • if we think your work shows promise and we ask you to resubmit, please do not resubmit until the next submission period.

    • we ask you this because we want to be fair to the other writers who have submitted and be able to give the same time and attention to their work as we gave to yours.

    • this rule for resubmissions also applies if you are submitting different works after we have sent you a letter.

    • if we have not accepted a previous work you have submitted, please do not send new work for us to consider until the next submission period.
