testimonials

Interning for the tiny journal is a remarkably transformative experience, especially for creative writers looking to diversify their perspectives. As I helped construct the fourth issue, I had the opportunity to become familiar with the Submittable platform, collaborate with other bright writers, and scour the many submissions for hard-hitting, magnificent pieces of poetry and prose. One may achieve these skills with other literary magazines, but the tiny journal is truly outstanding because of Caylee's meticulous consideration of the interns. By giving the writers as much flexibility as possible, Caylee directly catalyzes the growth of the interns not only as a writer but as a person interested in the literary arts. Caylee and the other team members make sure that each intern is able to challenge themselves in a friendly community of writers; interning for the tiny journal is the best way to immerse yourself in the literary arts.

Working with the tiny journal is a wonderful experience for writers with editorial interests. By helping assemble together the third online issue, I was able to work directly with the staff and written submissions, witnessing firsthand the process behind publishing submitted works. I was challenged to read submissions closely, fortifying not only my knowledge of the mechanics of English, but my ability to critique creatively as well. But exclusive to the tiny journal is the opportunity to work with the thoughtful, talented staff behind the magazine. Caylee does her best to make the internship a worthwhile experience. Through her expertise, communication, and kindness, she ensures that all interns leave with something learned and worthwhile. If you are looking not only for an experience but a close community of writers — start here at the tiny journal.
