created in 2018, the tiny journal is an annual online literary journal that publishes beautiful and short nonfiction, fiction, and poetry.

our mission

at the tiny journal, we believe good literary writing should be accessible to everyone. that’s why all of our publications are entirely online, fee-free, and accessible from anywhere with a wifi signal.

we aim to publish pieces small enough to be read on an iPhone screen because we want good literature to be everywhere—not just in libraries and universities. we publish works small enough to read on your work break, on your bus ride, or on your walk home. our commitment to making good, short writing accessible is also why we publish consistently on the monocle, our craft blog, where interns and editors share writing techniques so that creative writing education is not just confined to the college classroom.
